Eureko financial services group includes many well-known insurance companies in the Netherlands and Europe, including Achmea, which is the largest insurance group in the Dutch market with 22,000 employees. Eureko controls its insurance and asset management businesses from its Netherlands headquarters in Zeist, near Utrecht. However, with employees based at offices across the country, time spent travelling to conferences and meetings was proving inefficient and inconvenient and hiring external conference facilities was costly.
Eureko decided to create an exclusive conference and meeting environment for employees, to include the best equipment and services available combined with a control system that had to be powerful yet simple to use. The new 5 star conference centre, conveniently located in Zeist, has top quality equipment controlled by AMX® technology, and the simplicity of the AMX Modero touch panels means that it can be operated by anyone with the minimum of instruction. The entire project, including programming of the AMX remote control solution, was completed by MK2 Audiovisueel.

“Intelligent programming ensures the control options for all electronic devices use a consistent layout and icons. This allows Eureko employees to spend less time getting to grips with the technology and more time doing business.”
The Power of AMXBehind the scenes at Eureko’s new 5 Star conference centre, the power of an AMX NetLinx® control system seamlessly interconnects and automates a host of electronic playback devices, presentation equipment and numerous AMX touch panels over a large AV network. The centre features an auditorium; three large conference rooms with projectors; a series of rooms which can be combined or used as separate individual private spaces; an informal meeting area called the ‘brain room’; 11 small conference rooms each with an LCD screen; a number of smaller meeting rooms and offices; and several dining rooms and restaurants.
In total there are 29 rooms and, for the purposes of control, they are divided into three groups, each has its own AV rack powered by multiple AMX NetLinx NI-3100 Integrated Controllers, and housed in a technical control room. The racks are connected on the AV network and they share functionality with each other.
Auditorium with Flexible ControlThe impressive 285-seater auditorium includes extensive presentation and video-conferencing equipment featuring full Dolby surround sound. Control and automation of many of the devices, including AV sources and switchers, projectors, lighting, control and other electronic equipment, is managed by two powerful dedicated AMX NetLinx NI-3100 Integrated Controllers and the user operates all the electronics through AMX Modero intuitive touch panel control systems.
Additional flexibility has been built into the system to enable the audio video sources to be routed between the auditorium and one of the main meeting rooms.
The Controlling ForceIn the technical control room a 15" Modero® VG Series Wall/Flush Mount Touch Panel with RGB controls all the devices in the auditorium. Whereas, within the auditorium a 12" Modero® VG Series Wall/Flush Mount Touch Panel with RGB mounted on the meeting table takes over. For added flexibility there is also an 8.4" Modero® ViewPoint® Touch Panel and Wall/Flush Mount Docking Station for 8.4" with wireless control, for those who want to move around the room while speaking, or setting lighting and volume levels.
Both touch panels in the auditorium are password protected to allow the administrator access to all the control functions, otherwise limited functionality is made available to the user.
“Behind the scenes at Eureko’s new 5 Star conference centre the power of an AMX NetLinx control system seamlessly interconnects and automates a host of electronic playback devices.”An AMX NetLinx NI-4100 Integrated Controller provides the added flexibility for certain rooms to be configured as a single space for large meetings by selecting combined mode, or as single independent rooms.
Effortless Meeting Room ControlEach room is equipped with AMX Modero touch panels which each have a simple interface which anyone can operate with the minimum of instruction. Intelligent programming ensures the control options for all electronic devices use a consistent layout and icons. This allows Eureko employees to spend less time getting to grips with the technology and more time doing business.
There is an AMX 7” Modero Wall/Flush Mount Touch Panel with integrated intercom outside each conference room displaying meeting room information. Eureko uses its existing Planon room scheduling system, and AMX’s Resource Management Suite® (RMS) software takes this information from the Planon server and displays it in the touch panels.
RMS also manages and monitors all Eureko’s electronic equipment in the rooms. Users can contact the helpdesk for support or order refreshments at the press of a button without leaving the room. When a help request is sent from a meeting room it is received by support via e-mail or text message from the RMS system.
